Tuesday 17th November - The Zamaretto League South & West Division - AFC Totton 2 Mangotsfield United 1
An unchanged Mangotsfield United side slipped to a single goal defeat at promotion favourites AFC Totton. After an evenly contested opening in which a determined Mangotsfield held their own the hosts took the lead midway through the first half through Brett Williams fifth league goal of the season. With half time approaching and The 'Field looking to go in just a goal down at the interval AFC Totton extended their lead when central defender Ross Bottomley got on the end of a Jamie Whisken free kick to head home on forty two minutes.
Mangotsfield were given hope of a second half fightback when seven minutes after the restart Geraint Bater fed Tom Knighton who scored his fourth goal in five matches but despite coming under periods of pressure the hosts dug in and ground out a victory to climb to second in the league behind Windsor & Eton.
Phil Bater's side face another stiff test this Saturday when travelling to the south coast to face a Gosport Borough side yet to lose at home in the league this season.
